About The Opportunity

We're looking for an Institutional Product Manager to support the growth and evolution of our platform for institutional clients including hedge funds, trading firms, asset managers, and financial institutions.

In this role, you'll help to build, improve our institution-grade solutions across Custody, Brokerage, post-trade services and grow the trading activity with our institutional client base.

This is a strategic and hands-on role where youll collaborate closely with engineering, legal, compliance, risk, sales, and operations to deliver secure, scalable, and user-centric solutions that power OKXs institutional offerings.

What Youll Be Doing

Product Strategy & Roadmap Execution
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities in the institutional crypto trading space.
- Collaborate with business development and sales teams to understand client needs and translate requirements into product requirement documents (PRDs).
- Propose enhancements & initiatives balancing technical feasibility, business impact, and regulatory compliance.

Cross-Functional cooperation
- Partner closely with engineering, design, legal, compliance, and operations teams to deliver complex trading infrastructure.
- Navigate technical constraints around latency, scalability, and system reliability for high-frequency trading requirements.
- Work within regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with risk management teams to implement appropriate controls and monitoring systems.

Data-Driven Product Development
- Analyze trading data, user behavior, and market trends using SQL and Python to inform product decisions.
- Create comprehensive dashboards and visualizations to track key performance indicators.
- Conduct integration testing and experimentation to optimize product performance and user experience.
- Monitor market microstructure data to identify opportunities for product enhancement.

Client Engagement & Market Understanding
- Engage directly with institutional clients to gather feedback and validate product concepts.
- Stay current with developments in cryptocurrency markets, traditional financial instruments, and regulatory changes.
- Understand orderbook dynamics, market making strategies, and algorithmic trading patterns.
- Collaborate with API product teams to ensure seamless integration for programmatic trading.

What We Look For In You

Experience & Background
- 4-6 years of product management experience with demonstrable track record of launching B2B or B2C financial products in a high paced environment.
- Experience working within technical, commercial, and legal/compliance constraints in financial services.
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle from ideation through launch and optimization.

Language Skills
- Professional fluency in both written and spoken Mandarin and English required.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and database queries.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation, and basic scripting.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Grafana, or similar) and statistical analysis.
- Comfortable working with APIs and understanding technical documentation.

Financial Markets Knowledge
- Solid understanding of orderbook mechanisms and market microstructure.
- Basic knowledge across asset classes: equities, bonds, foreign exchange, and cryptocurrencies.
- Familiarity with API trading, algorithmic trading strategies, and electronic market making.
- Understanding of institutional trading workflows and infrastructure requirements.

Nice-To-Haves

Experience at a cryptocurrency exchange, traditional financial institution, or fintech company.
Background in quantitative finance, computer science, or related technical field.
Familiarity with blockchain technology and DeFi protocols.
Experience with regulatory frameworks (MiFID II, CFTC, SEC, MAS) in financial services.
Understanding of risk management systems and compliance monitoring.
Experience managing products with high-volume, low-latency requirements.
