About the Role
This position supports the implementation of global initiatives and strategies to strengthen materials management practices across manufacturing sites. The role coordinates with SIOP, Procurement, Finance, and CBU to deploy strategies using the Harman Production System philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Support Harman Automotive manufacturing plants in material management processes, focusing on customer demand planning.
- Identify and deploy best practices among manufacturing customer and production control teams.
- Manage end of life/change processes to reduce obsolescence risk.
- Oversee production control and FERT transactions.
- Ensure data and transactional integrity in the MRP system to meet customer requirements.
- Audit and correct SAP master data settings, including inventory and planning.
- Develop "what if" business case analysis scenarios for executive decisions.
- Make quick or thorough decisions as needed.
- Support training and development of materials personnel across all sites.
- Lead webinars to train associates on tools and processes.
- Identify process gaps in customer service and initiate corrective actions to prevent non-compliance.
Requirements
- Leadership, influencing, negotiation, and incident management skills.
- Proactive and goal-oriented decision making.
- High proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and data management.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills within a global matrix organization.
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, international business, finance, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of BOM, engineering changes, documentation control, and life product cycle (LPC) in the electronics industry.
- 10+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing environment.
- Experience with continuous improvement and excellence methods.
- Fluent English communication skills.
