Job description:
General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)
Ensure efficient availability of materials for Cobre Panama by optimizing Inventory Management. This role defines and reviews replenishment strategies, leveraging planning and demand forecasting, safety stock management, and reorder point analysis. Collaborating with procurement, maintenance, user areas in general, and warehouse teams to improve inventory cost efficiency and business continuity. Communicate internally with management and operational teams

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Preferred: Postgraduate degree or certification in Supply Chain, logistics, Projects or Operations Management.
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems (JDE, SAP, or similar) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar).
• Knowledge of safety standards, environmental compliance in material management, and preferable mining regulations.
Knowledge & Experience
Inventory Management & Replenishment
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, and replenishment strategies within mining, oil & gas, building, or industrial operations, ensuring optimal stock levels, working capital optimization, availability of materials, and minimal obsolescence.
• Proven ability to design and implement segmented inventory strategies (ABC/XYZ, criticality-based) and optimize replenishment policies (ROP, ROQ, Min/Max, Safety Stock) balancing service level, working capital, and risk.
• Experience performing root cause analysis of inventory imbalances (excess, stockouts, obsolescence) and driving cross-functional corrective actions across multi-site or complex operations
ERP Systems & Data Analytics
• Proven experience using ERP systems (JDE, SAP, or similar) for inventory control. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools for inventory performance, monitoring, and decision-making.
• Advanced expertise in data governance and ERP optimization, including master data integrity, parameter standardization, and leading system enhancement initiatives (requirements, UAT, deployment).
