This Real Estate Audit Manager role is based out of Washington, DC office. You will work alongside seasoned CPAs and industry leaders, managing all aspects of audit engagements and mentoring junior staff. The focus is on real estate clients including REITs, developers, real estate funds, and property managers.
How You'll Spend Your Time:
- Leading engagement team staff on planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements for real estate clients.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations of the audit from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, to issuance.
- Providing supervision and support to engagement staff and promoting open communication to senior managers and partners.
- Collaborating on client issue resolution and making recommendations for issues during audits.
- Managing multiple engagements concurrently to meet client deadlines efficiently.
- Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies.
- Conducting evaluations and providing counsel to team members.
- Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
- Delivering insights on portfolio risk, asset management strategies, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA license required.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Experience auditing real estate or related organizations.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
The compensation for this position ranges from $105,000 to $170,000 annually. Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Final offers are based on role, location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
