SCARCE: On 13 July 2018 NTU and CEA signed an MRCA in Paris, to set-up the Singapore CEA Alliance for Research in the Circular Economy (SCARCE), to develop innovative and energy efficient solutions in the recovery of valuable resources from recycling waste materials.

This position takes place in the global project on recycling Printed Circuit Boards. More precisely, it will focus on developing an efficient processing route to dismantle efficiently as well as sort resulting electronic components into fractions as enriched as possible in various strategic metals. The selected candidate will therefore develop a process to recover the various fractions of the PCBs, ca. polymeric/organic, inorganic fibers, solder, and metallic components (ferrous and non-ferrous).

Job Requirements:
- PhD (or Engineer with minimum 2 years of experience) in materials/mechanical engineering, in the field of solid state material recycling, instrumentation development.
- Interface software development.
- Knowledge in optical sorting is a plus.
- Good record in technical documentation writing, including IPs.
- Experience in materials recycling is a plus.
- Energetic, proactive, results-oriented, and self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills.
- A target-oriented, structured attitude and team spirit are necessary. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are required.
- Adept at planning, prioritizing, multi-tasking, organizing, following through, and thinking on feet.
- Knowledge of Python is a plus.
