Registered Nurse (RN)
General Purpose
The primary responsibility of the RN-H NOC SHIFT is to supervise day-to-day nursing activities during the night shift in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure the highest quality of resident care.
Essential Duties
- Assist the Director of Nursing in managing nursing services and developing policies and procedures.
- Ensure nursing staff compliance with established procedures and maintain current reference materials.
- Participate in facility surveys and quality assurance programs.
- Manage nursing personnel including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Ensure safety, sanitation, and proper use of equipment and supplies within the nursing department.
- Participate in staff development and in-service training programs.
- Maintain communication with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Comply with all confidentiality and privacy regulations regarding resident information.
Qualification
- Minimum Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least 2 years of experience, preferably in long-term care.
- Current RN license and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of rehabilitative nursing, nursing practices, and relevant health care laws.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to move intermittently during the workday and handle physical demands of the position.
Work Environment
Work includes office and nursing service areas with exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, and physically demanding situations. The RN is expected to work beyond normal hours including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs.
