Accountable for serving client families by making at-need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements, the Family Service Counselor acts as the primary contact for families and plays an essential role in generating revenue for the cemetery.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Generation
- Prospect a minimum of 1-2 hours daily
- Obtain referrals from families served
- Network and build community and civic relationships
- Conduct presentations to families served and referred
- Maintain and track activity levels for productivity
Build Relationships with Families
- Respond to client inquiries respectfully and promptly
- Connect with families through honest communication and concern
- Understand unique family needs and provide valuable solutions
- Follow up to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues
- Build trust-based relationships to earn referrals and educate on pre-planning benefits
Teamwork
- Serve as a link from at-need services through aftercare and future protections
- Collaborate with funeral directors, location managers, and staff
- Review previous services and contacts to support current sales
- Share family concerns with the SCI team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of college or equivalent education/experience
Experience
- Preferred 1-2 years in customer service or sales industry
Licenses
- Valid state/province driver's license with acceptable record
- Insurance license if required by state/province law
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Pass Company presentation certification within 30 days
- Work evenings and/or weekends as needed
- Frequent driving required
- Obtain and maintain insurance license if required
- Flexible hours; able to work up to 12 hours/day
- Ability to treat others with empathy and respect
- Computer knowledge and customer service skills
Compensation: $50,000 to $100,000 targeted compensation with higher earnings potential based on performance
