This position is an outside sales role responsible for promoting the company\'s products and services, building relationships with new and existing accounts, and helping customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals. The role may require working non-traditional hours.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within assigned territory.
- Seek and qualify prospects based on company account stratification goals.
- Research customer business needs and develop products and services to meet those needs.
- Evaluate market trends and recommend products accordingly.
- Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitor activities and share relevant information with customers.
- Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and usage.
- Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
- Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
- Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary.
- Manage delivery schedules and troubleshoot order process issues.
- Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and events.
- Attend sales and district meetings and engage in ongoing training.
- Assist training new employees as requested.
- Review and analyze sales reports and financial data.
- Perform administrative duties such as preparing sales budgets, maintaining sales records, processing credits, and filing reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience: Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED with 3 years Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent experience including completion of Sysco Sales Internship.
Preferred Qualifications: Bi-lingual skills, Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, Chef experience preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: Valid driver\'s license with clean driving record; current automobile insurance meeting specified limits.
- Submit to pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check).
- Must sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement.
- Reside or willing to relocate to geographical territory.
