Job Description
AtkinsRalis is seeking a Senior Designer I&C to join their team in Bothell, WA. The full-time position involves technical responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and preparation of instrumentation and controls (I&C) drawing packages within project budget and schedule. Responsibilities include supervising design and drafting functions, interfacing with other engineering disciplines, and ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete layout of I&C related engineering drawings including wiring diagrams, installation details, and network architecture block diagrams.
- Lead and supervise the design team to complete project design packages on schedule.
- Check designs for compliance with contract specifications and standards.
- Perform drafting using AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Revit, and SmartPlant 3D software.
- Mentor design team members and provide instrumentation support during construction and start-up phases.
- Maintain project documentation and adhere to quality management policies.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum Associate degree in drafting or Instrumentation/Industrial Automation.
- At least six years of industrial or power plant design experience as an Instrument and Controls Designer.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SmartPlant suite, and knowledgeable about electrical and instrumentation design standards.
- Strong understanding of instrument types, installations, document control procedures, and P&IDs.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
Compensation & Benefits
Expected annual salary between $75,000 - $125,000 or hourly rate of $36.00 - $60.00 depending on experience and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with match, paid time off, flexible work options, employee stock purchase plan, and more.
