Senior Manager Risk and Control Enablement – Business Lending Operations
12 month secondment/fixed term contract
The Chief Operations Office (COO) keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession. We are the process engine room supporting the fulfilment of a wide range of products for CBA’s Retail, Commercial and Institutional customers, along with running regulatory operations and Group regulatory projects. Business, Institutional and Market Operations (BIMO) provides operational support for Business Banking and IB&M. Our teams include Business Banking Operations and Market Operations.
Line 1 Risk partner with BIMO and other stakeholders to advise on risk, compliance, control, and change, ensuring the safety of our organisation and customers. We do this by fostering a culture of risk awareness and sound risk management practices via:
Implementation and adherence to the Operational and Compliance Risk Management Framework.
Specialist advice, consultation, and services to support the business in identifying, monitoring, and managing its respective risks and controls.
Build and embedment of strong risk capability and culture across BIMO.
Risk governance and reporting.
Change management risk assessments in support of project and transformation activities across BIMO.
Supplier risk assessment and governance.

As a Senior Manager - Risk and Control Enablement, you will report to the Executive Manager, Risk and Control Enablement, and support the Business Lending Operations portfolio. You will build and manage productive relationships with:
Business Banking and Market Operations
Business Lending Product teams
Operational Risk and Compliance Line 2
CBAi
Chief Operations Office (the broader team that BIMO is a part of)
Chief Controls Office Centres of Excellence
Key responsibilities:
Drive and support the Business Lending Operations in implementing and adhering to the Operational Risk and Compliance Management Framework.
Design and implement controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis of issues and incidents and assist in identifying and implementing rectification and remediation actions.
Conduct operational risk training programs to increase risk awareness and culture.
Collaborate with Line 2 and 3 to support reviews and audits.
Support business stakeholders in improving and automating processes and assist in change management risk assessments.
Report on operational risk and control profiles, issues, incidents, and other matters as required.
Engage with various parts of Business Banking and CBAi, and the wider Group, assisting in completing necessary reviews.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Strong experience in L1 risk advisory function.
Strong knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance Management frameworks.
Experience in Business Banking or Operations would be advantageous.
Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.
Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
An academic or a professional qualification in a related field that supports the performance of the position is preferrable.
