The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) offers an opportunity for a Senior/Research Fellow in Skin Biology focused on the development and conduction of complex medium-throughput assays using 3D skin models. The role involves designing methods for validating screening hits as part of a project developing new drugs for intractable skin disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive review of literature and assays.
- Recommend improvements for assay development, validation, and quality control.
- Coordinate with team to ensure reliable supply of skin models.
- Design, run, analyze assays using imaging and molecular biology techniques including confocal microscopy and RNAscope.
- Conduct downstream assays for hit validation and lead optimization.
- Supervise outsourced activities in collaboration with PIs.
- Serve as subject matter expert on skin biology.
- Collaborate with scientists to ensure smooth data and material flow.
- Provide regular updates to funders and stakeholders.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- PhD plus minimum 5 years post-doctoral experience in skin biology or related field.
- Experience with high-throughput screening and automated imaging.
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D skin models including explants.
- Expertise in advanced imaging and molecular biology techniques.
- Experience working with industry partners.
- Ability to work independently in a structured project environment.
- Strong discipline and ability to manage time pressure.
