The opportunity
A collaborative, forward-thinking R&D team developing the next generation of digital monitoring, edge computing, and communication technologies for medium- and high-voltage power equipment.
In this role, you will contribute to building solutions that Improve grid reliability and asset visibility, Enable secure data exchange between Nodes in SCADA systems and Create platforms on the virtual environment to support Data strategy.
How you’ll make an impact
- Prepare, Develop and maintain NG SOM Engineering Flow.
- Contribute to Develop and Improve SOM platform reference architecture.
- Develop Edge and cloud concept for digital STATCOM.
- Develop basic substations in MicroSCADA HMI.
- Develop Gateway Solutions - MSX/RTU based solutions.
- Communication interfaces of entire SOM scope (IEC61850, SNMP, IEC104, MODBUS, etc.).
- Implement secured communication protocols.
- Define specific features of Hitachi Power Quality to vendors.
- Define the STATCOM requirement for PGGA.
- Maintain the backlog for PGGA and other vendor CRs and Bugs.
- Handle Bugs/CRs towards the SOM platform from application teams.
- Manage lifecycle management. Responsible to keep track of required licenses and follow up the procedures for required licenses.
- Study platform performance and faults to improve and provide alarm system.
- Provide requirements and features of SOM platform.
- Research and develop new technologies in Digital substations.
- Collaborate with Product owner.
- Support and collaborate test engineer to test the platform functions
Your background
- PHD or master’s in software engineering or electrical engineering with experience in software development.
- Proficiency in SCADA systems, particularly MicroSCADA.
- Proficiency in data collection and Local storage and Edge framework.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols (IEC61850, SNMP, IEC104, MODBUS, OPC-UA).
- Experience with gateway solutions and RTU-based systems.
- Knowledge of secured communication protocols and cybersecurity measures.
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Merit Substation project management experience, including backlog and lifecycle management.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability to new technologies and evolving project requirements.
- Merit Knowledge of Edge computing and Cloud infrastructure.
