Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's systems infrastructure with a focus on Azure, Cloud Native Technologies, Networking, Windows Server, and Virtualization technologies. The position requires constant learning and thought leadership of new methods, processes, and technologies that can be applied to achieve Firstech's technology operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, high-availability system solutions in Azure and on-premises environments.
- Develop and oversee virtualization strategies to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with network team to ensure seamless connectivity and network performance.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure continuous system improvements.
- Participate in identification and remediation of security issues/vulnerabilities and implement scalable automated remediations.
- Contribute to development and implementation of standard configuration frameworks across technologies.
- Design, implement, and test new technologies/systems according to defined requirements.
- Assess, monitor, and project lifecycle of systems ensuring support and alignment with business objectives.
- Assess utilization of technology resources for improvements and cost reductions.
- Maintain documentation for business continuity, supportability, and compliance.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years senior-level systems engineering experience in virtualized Microsoft Windows environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure technologies (Windows Server, IIS, PKI, Group Policy, Active Directory).
- Advanced experience with virtualization (Nutanix, VMware).
- Expert level scripting skills (PowerShell).
- Moderate to advanced networking knowledge (Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers).
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365).
- Preferred experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, Ansible).
- Exposure to cloud native technologies (Kubernetes, Serverless, CI/CD, Microservices).
- Nice to have: Microsoft O365 (Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Intune) experience.
- Intermediate SSO technologies knowledge (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
Benefits and Compensation
Competitive salary dependent on qualifications and experience, with base pay range $101,000 - $123,000 per year. Eligibility for bonuses and incentives.
