
Job Summary
As a Sr. BIOS Engineer at Jabil, Inc., you will be responsible for the design, development, and debugging of UEFI BIOS firmware for various computing platforms. You will play a critical role in bringing up new hardware, optimizing system performance, and ensuring the stability and reliability of our products.
Job Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and debug UEFI BIOS firmware for server, PC, and embedded systems.
* Collaborate with hardware design teams during board bring-up and validation phases.
* Analyze and resolve complex BIOS-related issues, including boot failures, ACPI, power management, and system stability problems.
* Implement and optimize BIOS features such as secure boot, trusted platform module (TPM), and various system management interfaces (SMI).
* Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for BIOS validation and regression testing.
* Work closely with operating system and driver development teams to ensure seamless integration and compatibility.
* Document BIOS architecture, design specifications, and test procedures.
* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in BIOS/UEFI development.
* Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in BIOS/UEFI firmware development.
* Strong proficiency in C and Assembly language programming.
* In-depth understanding of x86/x64 architecture, processor boot sequences, and memory management.
* Extensive experience with UEFI architecture, TianoCore EDKII, and various BIOS development tools.
* Solid understanding of ACPI, PCIe, USB, SATA, and other platform technologies.
* Experience with debugging tools such as ITP, JTAG, and in-circuit emulators.
* Familiarity with hardware schematics and data sheets.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
