We are seeking an EHS Senior Specialist- Construction and Contractors. This individual will be dedicated to developing, implementing, and managing site safety programs.
This position will focus on hazard identification, risk elimination and reduction, injury prevention, knowledge of construction, industrial processes, manufacturing equipment, industrial health and safety regulatory requirements, standards, and best practices.
Please note, this role is 100% onsite in Casa Grande, AZ.
You Will:
Support day-to-day EHS Construction and Contractors activities and projectsAssist with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS Management System elementsReview the project-specific safety manuals and documentation submitted by subcontractorsSupport the development of the Construction & Contractor EHS PlanCoordinate safety orientation and activities of unit managers, facilitating the full implementation of the Project Site Specific Safety PlanDevelop positive relationships with project management, contractors and trade workersAssist Lucid with the planning and hazard mitigation of identified high hazard/high risk contractor activitiesEnsure compliance with environmental requirements and adherence to Lucid policies and proceduresAssist with Job Hazard Analysis and other risk assessments toolsConduct field safety observations, audits, reporting and drive all solutions in the fieldReview work control permits examine job plans and specifications to determine if all safety precautions have been includedTour work area to inspect fire safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulationsDetermine requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devicesConduct and/or coordinate safety training to educate workers about safety policies, laws, and practicesInvestigate accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare accident reports (EHS Alerts / 8D Incident Investigations forms)Participate in and provide leadership to the Construction Emergency Response TeamAudit contractors site performance and reduce risk with leading indicatorsParticipate in communication strategies, such as safety meetings and notices to ensure relevant EHS information is communicated across the sitePartner with other EHS functions (Manufacturing, Equipment Safety, Systems & Tools, EHS Training) as needed to ensure effective service deliveryAbility to support weekend and holiday season projectsYou Bring:
Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction or a related fieldMinimum 4 years work experience as Construction EHS professional, or EHS rolesExperience supporting EHS program development, training all levels of personnel, and influencing/managing change to reduce risksStrong working knowledge of OSHA 1926, incident investigation methodology, and risk mitigation strategiesCompetency to create communications and plans to multiple levels of the organization with successSuccessful experience in contractor safety managementExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience using EHS software, dashboards, or observation tools to drive performanceMicrosoft and 365 fluency is requiredPreferred Skills and Qualifications:
Construction-specific credentials, such as BCSPs Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or OSHA Certified Safety & Health Official (CSHO) in ConstructionAdvance Training in Construction Management and EngineeringPhysical & Work Conditions
