About the Role
Senior Material Planners are responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely procurement of materials to support production schedules, while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. They collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and engineering to align material planning with production schedules and project requirements.
- Identify and lead projects to enhance systems and processes.
- Utilize ERP, MRP, Excel, and SQL to manage and analyze material requirements, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
- Monitor and analyze material usage, lead times, and supplier performance to find opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Prepare and present reports on material planning and inventory performance to management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for material planning processes and systems.
- Mentor and guide junior material planners and team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Masters + 6 years experience).
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and demand scheduling tools.
- Highly skilled with ERP, MRP, Excel, and SQL.
- Material planning experience in manufacturing, preferably aerospace or automotive.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supply chain management or material planning certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
- Advanced degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, or CIS.
- Significant SAP experience.
- Experience with Python, R, PowerBI, Tableau.
