Sterile Processing Technician - Surgical Services - PT - Evenings - MRH

Summary:

Receives, cleans, sterilizes and stores surgical instruments and equipment.
*** weekdays 5pm to 9pm with rotating weekends ***

Responsibilities:

Properly disposes of bio-hazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and supplies.Performs and documents required quality assurance testing and inspections.Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and substances.

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)Certified Central Service Vendor Partner (CCSVP) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), Certified Endoscope Preprocessor (CER) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Manager (CSPDM) - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD), Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: One (1) year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred. Other Information: Successful completion of a recognized training program in Central Sterile Processing preferred.
