ALL ABOUT THE STORES EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP INTERNSHIP
Experience firsthand what it is like to lead a retail team within a Target store. This paid 40 hr/week internship is a hands-on training program designed to develop and prepare you for store leadership. You will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role (Assistant Store Manager) by working closely with managers and team members to understand Targets retail business and management requirements.
- Drive guest experience and impact store financial, team, and operational performance.
- Work alongside a mentor and learn effective department leadership.
- Lead your mentor's department with guidance and support.
- Learn to motivate a team, drive sales, merchandise products, and ensure exceptional guest service.
- Participate in ongoing developmental conversations and training.
- Support daily operations and build a positive store culture.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Leading teams on the salesfloor and backroom.
- Supporting Executive Team Lead mentor and other store leaders.
- Managing daily priorities like stocking, safety, and displays.
- Coaching, training, and delivering performance feedback to team members.
- Addressing team concerns and ensuring smooth operations.
- Leading daily huddles and organizing daily goals.
- Reviewing business reports and guest insights for improvement.
- Providing excellent guest service and innovative solutions.
- Actively participating in training and demonstrating leadership qualities.
- Ensuring safety, ethical conduct, and fostering an inclusive culture.
- Handling cash operations and using technology as needed.
