The Stores Executive Intern program at Target offers a paid, 40-hour-per-week hands-on training internship designed to prepare individuals for store leadership roles, such as Executive Team Leader. Participants will gain experience in leading retail teams, managing store priorities, and delivering excellent guest service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead among team members on the salesfloor and backroom, aligning the team on daily business priorities.
- Work alongside Executive Team Lead (ETL) mentor and store leaders to understand their roles.
- Execute daily priorities: stocking shelves, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, building displays.
- Teach, coach, train, and provide timely performance feedback to team members.
- Address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles.
- Lead and present at daily huddles with leadership teams.
- Plan daily goals and organize plans within the store.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to identify and act on opportunities.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by empowering team members.
- Recommend innovative solutions to business or team opportunities.
- Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities throughout the internship.
- Promote a culture of ethical conduct, safety, compliance, inclusion, and equity.
- Perform duties across all departments to develop business acumen.
- Create welcoming guest experiences and engage to solve guest needs effectively.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong interest in retail management within stores.
- Leadership skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Capability to manage and prioritize workload independently.
- Welcoming, helpful attitude and effective communication skills.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
