Job Description
Responsibilities:
Open formal complaints (CPMs) against component suppliers due to quality issues, ensuring root cause investigation and closure with effective and properly documented corrective actions (8D Report).
Perform problem-solving activities, including coordinating meetings with suppliers for the development and evaluation of 8D reports, implementing containment actions in the factory (such as sorting and rework), managing external teams, and ensuring non-conforming parts (NOK) are correctly blocked.
Ensure that, upon the resolution of a quality complaint with the supplier, they take responsibility for the associated losses, formalizing the commitment through the signing of an official document ("Charge Back Report").
Effectively and appropriately manage blocked stock, ensuring that the material is scrapped or returned to the supplier within the deadlines established in the procedures.
Responsible for defining, implementing, and updating work instructions in the Incoming Quality Control area, ensuring necessary support for operations and compliance of components with quality requirements.
Prepare and ensure the update of work instructions for the Incoming Quality Control area, ensuring they are correctly defined, as well as providing continuous support to area activities, guaranteeing component compliance with quality requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to promote continuous improvement, resolve quality problems, and prevent impacts on the production line and customers.
Regularly monitor the APQP status of newly launched components and ensure that PPAP parts are measured in the laboratory, with results compared to the supplier's report.
Verify that new components, either not yet approved or recently approved, are tested on BorgWarner's production line.
Responsible for opening formal complaints to suppliers regarding unapproved components whenever they are already in the plant and obtaining an 8D Report together with the SDE.
Responsible for managing e-SCR (Supplier Change Requests), acting as an intermediary between suppliers and the Change Management and Engineering departments, ensuring the correct implementation of changes in components.
Develop, in collaboration with the supplier, a new PPAP in case of a component revision change, 90 days after the initial approval (except for level 3 PPAPs).
Ensure that suppliers carry out the annual requalification of their components, as described in the supplier manual, requiring the dimensional report, material certificate, and/or other relevant documents.
Conduct internal process audits (LPA), ensuring that quality procedures and standards are correctly followed during production.
Conduct on-site supplier audits, ensuring compliance with the annual audit program for external suppliers.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety at work standards, policies and practices in accordance with their level of responsibility.

Requirements & Competencies
Degree Engineering (preferably in Materials, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering).
Two or more years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer and/or in similar roles in the Quality area, preferably in the automotive sector.
Strong knowledge of quality tools (8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards (considered an advantage).
Experience in conducting internal and/or supplier audits (training in VDA 6.3 and ISO 19011 is valued).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
Experience in dealing with international suppliers to resolve quality issues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Fluency in Portuguese (spoken and written).
Good knowledge of IT tools (especially SAP and MS Office).
Experience in the Quality area, preferably in the automotive sector.
