Position Summary
Creates and/or edits the technical components of artistic visual elements used in electronic games or software products. Uses knowledge and experience with programming languages and 3D graphics packages such as 3ds Max and Maya to modify art assets for technical viability and performance within game engines and/or software code. Reviews import settings and technical requirements to ensure proper implementation and efficiency of 3D models and other art assets. Evaluates and monitors art asset rendering and modifies models to enhance technical performance.

Job Summary: The Technical Artist serves as a translator between art and engineering, working closely with the game studio artists and engineers to ensure that the player-facing vision for the game is achieved. Other duties include managing and improving the content creation pipeline, coaching game artists on asset implementation, and staying current on game industry tools and processes.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Art, Game Development, or a related field OR equivalent industry experience.
