Candu Energy Inc. is seeking a Technical Manager for a full-time, permanent position. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong technical and operational expertise, exceptional client relationship skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering major projects. The successful candidate will join our team supporting both the design of new nuclear power plants and the operation, refurbishment of existing CANDU nuclear facilities, and other projects. This position reports to the Buenos Aires office Engineering Director.

Your role within the team:
This position requires an individual who is self-motivated and capable of working independently and developing his/her career and experience in the nuclear field. The candidate shall be able to follow instructions from a qualified professional engineer to complete the assigned mechanical related scopes or tasks and develop necessary engineering design documentation as required.
- Develop and implement plans for assigned tasks, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Manage technical integration and interface control across one or more related disciplines within the project.
- Select and review design and analysis methods, materials, components, equipment, and processes to ensure the safety and performance of structures, systems, and components.
- Ensure that appropriately qualified staff are assigned to the project, with responsibilities aligned to their skills and experience.
- Provide coaching, supervision, and performance feedback to team members.
- Coordinate staff recruitment and training initiatives.
- Offer technical guidance and insights to support team development and project success.
- Oversee technical deliverables, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Ensure that final deliverables meet customer requirements and comply with applicable nuclear codes, regulations, and standards.
- Review and approve key technical documentation for the project or specific project phases.
- Identify and propose improvements proactively and in response to customer feedback.
- Liaise with internal and external client engineering teams on technical matters, as delegated by the Engineering Director.

The ideal candidate:
- University degree in an applicable field of engineering or science.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing and/or performing safety and licensing work.
- At least 5 years of applicable engineering experience including experience prior to engineering management roles.
- Sound knowledge of multiple engineering fields and of nuclear technologies.
- Demonstrated skills in the management of several complex technical projects, leadership, and project management of a highly technical group.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills in the development of team members and support staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Spanish) and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional client focus and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen, the ability to think, plan and negotiate strategically with strong commercial orientation and good understanding of financial measurements.
- Additional, preferred qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance.
- Experience in executing projects that are subject to import/export controls.
- Experience in managing subconsultants and work sharing with other offices within a company.
