Job Description: This job is responsible for analyzing Japanese corporate bond issuers, especially in nonfinancial sectors, and Japanese credit market. Key responsibilities include monitoring credit markets and/or individual companies' business position and providing data-driven insights regarding the future performance of the company's bonds or credit markets. Job expectations include having industry knowledge and analyzing new investment strategies.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of research report regarding nonfinancial Japanese corporate bond issuers and Japanese credit market
Evaluation of individual credit based on industry analysis and fundamentals analysis
Investment recommendation for bond (senior, sub) and CDS to institutional clients
Conducting domestic/overseas client marketing and teach-in session for sales and traders
Introduction of overseas companies/credit market trend based on BofA Global Research analyst report/presentation
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of experience in equity research, buy side experience, investment banking experience and rating agency experience
Experience with econometric software and data and news services
Experience with quantitative analysis and database management
Understanding of finance, accounting, economics, international affairs and politics
Builds strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration
Executes multiple tasks simultaneously
Applies learnings and adapts new information to identify appropriate client solutions
Strong computer application skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent English in reading, writing and speaking. Native level Japanese is required.
Desired Qualifications:
Degree qualified, major in Finance or related discipline
Holds or is working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst and/or other relevant professional certifications
Experience with sell side research, established content generation and/or presentation franchise
Skills:
Excellent financial modelling/analytical skills and familiarity with building and maintaining information databases.
Strong verbal communication ability and strong interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
